While students progress through the second quarter, and the leaves fall, plenty of exciting things have been happening around campus. After the long-awaited search for the new head of school, concluding with Ms. Hill being chosen for the position, the decision was greeted with intense appreciation by students. To continue the stream of exciting events on campus, the mock elections were a success, with 77% voter turnout. The junior class had the best voter turnout rate of 98%. As dancers prepare for the upcoming dance concert and thespians and techies prepare for Antigone, the wait for Thanksgiving break gets shorter and shorter.

With Thanksgiving on November 22, and a five-day-long break hanging tantalizingly close, students are making plans for the break. According to freshman Gabby Welhoelter, “I really enjoyed the student appreciation assembly. I’m excited to have no homework or crew for a week for Thanksgiving and beat our family rivals at Thanksgiving dodgeball.” Primarily, students are happy for the extra sleep, more time with their families, and the chance to travel. According to junior Ellie Nolan, “I’m excited to have some free time to relax, cook, and hang out with my friends.”
